This Privacy Policy explains how NOAA Tides ("we," "our," or "the app"), developed by Eoncast LLC, handles information when you use our mobile application. We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about our data practices.

Information We Don't Collect

NOAA Tides is designed to respect your privacy. We do not collect:

• Account or login credentials
• Location history or tracking data
• Usage analytics or behavioral data

Location Services

NOAA Tides may request access to your device's location services. This is used only to:

• Find nearby NOAA tide stations based on your current position
• Display relevant weather data for your location

Your location data is processed entirely on your device and is never transmitted to our servers. We do not store, log, or track your location history. You can use the app without granting location access by manually searching for stations.

Data Stored on Your Device

The app stores the following information locally on your device only:

• Favorite Stations: Your saved tide station preferences
• Cached Tide Data: Previously loaded tide predictions for offline viewing
• App Settings: Your preferences for units (°F/°C, mph/kph, etc.)

This data never leaves your device and is not accessible to us or any third party.

Third-Party Services

NOAA Tides connects to the following external services to provide tide and weather data:

• NOAA CO-OPS: Official tide prediction data from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration
• National Weather Service: Marine weather forecasts and alerts
• NDBC (National Data Buoy Center): Buoy data including water temperature and wave information
• Open-Meteo: Weather forecasts and marine conditions

When you request tide or weather data, the app sends only the station ID or coordinates required to fetch that specific data. No personal information is transmitted. Please refer to each service's privacy policy for their data practices.

App Store & Apple Services

NOAA Tides is distributed through the Apple App Store. Apple may collect certain data related to app downloads and usage analytics. This collection is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy, not ours. We do not have access to any personally identifiable data from Apple.

Data Security

Since we don't collect or store your personal data on our servers, there is no risk of your personal information being compromised through a data breach on our end. All app data is stored securely on your device using standard iOS security practices.

Children's Privacy

NOAA Tides does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 years of age. Since the app doesn't collect personal data from any users, it is safe for users of all ages.
