All tide predictions come directly from NOAA (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration), the official source for U.S. tide data. This ensures accurate, reliable predictions for fishing, boating, and coastal activities.
Tap the Map icon in the bottom navigation, find your station, and tap the heart icon to add it to favorites. You can also search for stations by name in the Favorites tab.
Tap the Calendar icon in the bottom navigation to open the date picker. Select any date to view tide predictions for that day. You can also scroll the chart left or right to navigate through time.
Water temperature data comes from buoys and marine sensors near each station. Some locations don't have nearby sensors, so water temperature may not be available. Air temperature and wind data from weather services are usually available for all locations.
Wave height shows the total combined wave height. Swell height and period indicate longer-period ocean swells (usually from distant storms). Wind wave height shows locally generated chop. These are important for boating safety and surfing conditions.
Yes! Once tide data is loaded for your favorite stations, it's cached locally on your device. You can view cached data offline. However, weather conditions and new tide data require an internet connection to update.
Simply swipe left or right on the main tide screen to switch between your favorite stations, just like the iOS Weather app. You can also tap the Favorites icon to see all your saved stations.
Marine alerts are official advisories from the National Weather Service about hazardous conditions like high surf, small craft advisories, gale warnings, and tropical storms. These are shown in the weather detail view when active for your location.
NOAA tide predictions are highly accurate under normal conditions. However, actual water levels can vary due to weather (wind, barometric pressure), storm surge, and seasonal factors. Always check current conditions for safety-critical decisions.
